I'm unsure if this game actually brought anything through from the other side but it certainly was great fun and very entertaining.

When playing the game it is said to summon the spirit of Kokkuri San who will stand by your side to answer questions and even bring you good luck. Playing the game still gives off slightly spooky vibes and I feel you have to set the scene of the room with dimmed lights to give the game more of a feel.

When playing you don't know if someone is just moving the counter themselves or if something really is moving it on the board. Its good fun to play with a group of adults or older children.

KKURI is inspired by the "fox-dog-raccoon dog" divination ritual popular in Japan's Edo period—where players summon "fox spirits" to obtain prophecies. In the game, players collectively perform a series of ritualistic actions: placing a special divination board in the center, all participants lightly touching a floating pointer, and silently awaiting the "spirit's" guidance. The pointer's movement points to pre-made answer cards, revealing prophecies about the future, emotions, or random events. This collectively participated psychic experience retains the solemnity of traditional rituals while adding dramatic tension through randomness. KKURI's rule system uses a "basic + extended" model. The core mechanism is simple and easy to understand, allowing 6-year-olds to quickly grasp the basic operations, while extended rules enhance strategic depth by adding card types and introducing character quests, catering to adult players. In games with 8-year-olds, children showed great interest in the pointer's movement, even spontaneously creating additional rules such as "spirit energy points"; while in adult games, players tended to use extended cards to design complex strategies, such as using "curse cards" to restrict opponents' actions or using "fate dice" to reverse divination results.

Very interesting game and similar to a quija board but more fun and less scary lol.

We have a traditional board but my DD who loves all aspects of Japanese culture was intrigued by this. It's slightly different as you have a "guide" rather than summoning a spirt directly. It also encourages you to ask questions and you all work together on the answers. I think this would be a lot of fun for like minded individual's and also non believers as it's easy to get caught up when playing it. Fun way to pass an evening maybe not for the littles but certainly the teenagers

I ordered this game to play with friends and family over Christmas. Be aware though that this is very much an 18+ game, I've uploaded a couple of photos to give you an idea of some of the content!

You get 120 cards with a truth/dare on, if you aren't willing to tell the truth you face the dare. Straightforward but fun.

This is a good quality, well made game, the cards are easy to read and the content is daring but fun. I think it's good value for money and should provide hours of fun.

A light hearted, fun truth or dare party game. It’s really simple to play and probably better suited to adults than teens. Some of the dares are a bit cringe and could be embarrassing depending on how wild your group is, but that’s part of the fun. Overall, it’s a great laugh and definitely helps liven up a gathering. I’d recommend it.

I know that we are going to have a lot of fun playing this game. It comes in a nice box for storage and there are 120 cards with two options on them. It is fair to say that they can be a bit risqué so you wouldn’t want to play this around children or anyone who is easily offended. The dares are silly and probably will be embarrassing at times but that adds to the fun. The game is priced reasonably compared to other card games of this nature. Recommended.

This is a fun game, which you can play with any group of friends or colleagues and it can be as risque as you like by basically not reading out any of the more saucy cards if you've whipped it out at the office party :D

You can add alcohol into the mix as well and play the boozy variant.

It's a fairly simple set up, you basically get cards with truth questions and dares on but they're nice and clearly printed and are on decent quality card stock that should fare well in the mitts of many.

I got the KOKKURI Japanese spirit board mostly out of curiosity—and maybe a tiny desire to add a spark of mystery to our next game night. I wasn’t prepared for how tantalizingly fun it would be.

From the moment we opened the box, the atmosphere shifted—not in a creepy way, but in that electric, “something interesting is about to happen” way. The design is beautiful, almost teasing you to ask a question you’re not sure you want the answer to. Even the kids were drawn to it like it was hiding secrets.

As soon as we started playing, everyone leaned in a little closer than usual. Fingers gently resting, eyes wide, smiles half-nervous, half-excited. The planchette gliding across the board felt almost… mischievous. You never quite know whether it’s your friend nudging it or if the board is just playing along with the suspense.

That’s the magic—it suggests mystery without ever being dark or heavy. It’s all in good fun, and perfect for families, anime fans, or anyone who loves a playful brush with the supernatural.

The laughter, the gasps, the “Wait—was that YOU?” moments… easily worth the price. And when the board “answered” a few questions a little too accurately, well… let’s just say everyone sat up a bit straighter.

Got this game for a friend’s bachelorette party and it literally saved our night. We had lots of fun and laughs. Of course, the participants also play a key role in making it entertaining.
